$1,000,000 raised at the Bal des Couleurs, a fundraising event organized by the Cité de la Santé Foundation to improve mental health care in Laval
The Cité de la Santé Foundation is proud to announce that the amount raised at the Bal des Couleurs, together with the generous donations received during this festive and emotionally-charged event, totals $1,000,000. This amount will be used to improve mental health care and services at the Centre intégré de santé et services sociaux (CISSS) de Laval.
In the sumptuous setting of the Sheraton Laval and Convention Centre, the evening brought together nearly 500 people from the business community and members of the CISSS de Laval community, in the presence of Pierre Brabant, municipal councillor for Vimont, representing the Mayor of Laval, and Minister Christopher Skeete, Minister responsible for the Laval region.
It was an opportunity to highlight the growing needs in mental health in our region, and the urgent need to contribute to improving the care and services offered. During the evening, a number of exceptional donations were announced for the cause, totalling $250,000. Honorary president Véronique Racanelli also announced an additional donation of $500,000 from the Lise and Giuseppe Racanelli Foundation, entirely dedicated to mental health. These impressive donations will be used to carry out major projects enabling the implementation of clinical programming for a context conducive to the social integration of people living with mental health problems.
"We are overwhelmed by so much goodwill! The Bal des Couleurs was a real success, both in terms of the number of participants, the beauty of the moments we shared together, and the amount raised. This evening reminds us that the Laval business community is deeply committed to the well-being of our people. On behalf of all CISSS de Laval users and the staff who care for our world on a daily basis, THANK YOU!" - André Malacket, Executive Director of the Fondation Cité de la Santé.
The Foundation would like to thank all its partners and collaborators: the evening's presenter, National Bank, in collaboration with Ingenia Technologies, our honorary president Véronique Racanelli, president of the Lise and Giuseppe Racanelli Foundation, and the participants and volunteers who made such a success possible.
