The 15th edition of the 300 km Bike Challenge for LIFE, an activity organized by the Cité de la Santé Foundation, presented by GUIMOND Construction and Desjardins, in collaboration with Subaru de Laval, was a record success: the net sum of $400,000 was collected for the Laval Cancer Program.
The 160 cyclists traveled 325 km round trip between Laval and Trois-Rivières on September 10 and 11. Our 2022 ambassador, Olympic champion Charles Hamelin, was present in Laval for the start of the event, where the excitement was palpable. Upon their arrival on Sunday at the Laval Integrated Cancer Center, the emotion was great, several participants being close to people with cancer or having themselves gone through this ordeal.
“We are really happy with the exceptional results of this 15th edition! We would like to thank all the participants, partners, donors and volunteers who made such a success possible. The mobilization of the population to provide better care and services to cancer patients warms our hearts and reminds us that in Laval, we take care of our world!
- André Malacket, Managing Director of the Cité de la Santé Foundation.
The money raised will be used to finance the acquisition of state-of-the-art medical equipment, to offer ever more innovative services to patients treated at the Laval Integrated Cancer Center and to contribute to clinical research projects carried out at the CISSS de Laval. and literally saving lives, every year.
