Major Campaign Launch

Date

November 15, 2022

The Cité de la Santé Foundation officially launches its major fundraising campaign. Under the theme #ProfoundlyHuman, the campaign aims to raise $10 million by 2025 to fund large-scale projects that will directly enhance the experience of users of the Hôpital de la Cité-de-la-Santé, young people from the Youth Center and seniors living at home or staying in the six CHSLDs in the area.

The Foundation is proud to have already consolidated $4.3 million in commitments that allow significant progress towards the achievement of the three main pillars of the campaign:
  • Modernize Cité-de-la-santé Hospital;
  • Take care of our most vulnerable;
  • Support research and innovation.

Committed ambassadors

Having become parents in the midst of the first wave of the pandemic at Cité-de-la-Santé, Charles Hamelin and Geneviève Tardif will take part in the movement. The project that particularly appeals to them is the construction of the new Family Center. It is high time for Laval to acquire a Center that meets its needs. With more than 4,000 deliveries per year, it is one of the largest midwifery centers in Quebec. Among other things, this initiative provides for the grouping of all family services under one roof (pregnancy follow-up, childbirth, neonatology, pediatrics, etc.).

What's more, Calgary Flames hockey player Jonathan Huberdeau will contribute $300,000 over six years to the Family Center construction project. Remember that the left winger is also the ambassador of the Foundation's annual golf tournament given his very special relationship with the Cité-de-la-Santé Hospital: he was born there and his mother, Josée, also received treatment for two cancers.
