The 14th edition of the 300 km Cycling Challenge for LIFE, an activity organized by the Cité de la Santé Foundation, presented by GUIMOND Construction and Desjardins, in collaboration with Subaru de Laval, was a record success: the net sum of $ 325,000 has been collected so far for the Laval Cancer Program.
In this very special year, with the constraints of the pandemic, the event was exceptional. The 150 cyclists participating in the 300 km for VIE rode the 325 km round trip between Laval and Trois-Rivières on September 11 and 12. When they arrived at the Laval Integrated Cancer Center, there was great emotion, many of the participants being close to people with cancer or having gone through this ordeal themselves.
“We are really happy with the results of this 14th edition! We would like to thank all the participants, partners, donors and volunteers who made such a success possible. The mobilization of the population to provide better care and services to cancer patients warms our hearts and reminds us that in Laval, we take care of our world! »
- André Malacket, Director General of the Cité de la Santé Foundation.
The money collected will help finance the acquisition of cutting-edge medical equipment, offer ever more innovative services to patients treated at the Laval Integrated Cancer Center and contribute to clinical research projects being carried out at the CISSS de Laval. and literally save lives every year.
