Job offer: Deputy General Manager

Mandate

Reporting to the General Manager, the incumbent assists the latter with all Foundation activities, outreach, human resources, fundraising strategies and development projects.

The candidate helps maintain good relations with the CISSS de Laval, the community, volunteers, partners, donors and various internal and external resources around the Foundation's mission, objectives and projects.

Main responsibilities

- Overall management and budgeting of operations;
- Manage human resources;
- Participate in strategic planning and governance leadership;
- Participate in the development of major gifts and planned giving, including donor solicitation, retention and recognition;
- Support the development of corporate partnerships and sponsorships;
- Participate in volunteer awareness, recruitment and retention;
- Ensure dynamic relations with individuals, companies, foundations, associations and government agencies, while respecting the rules, policies and ethical standards related to fund development and fundraising.

Management of day-to-day operations and governance/internal management

- Governance - review of donation allocation, endowment and acceptance policies;
- Assistance to the Board of Directors, drafting of Board minutes and related follow-up;
- Management of projects to be funded, including major campaign projects (follow-up on project submissions and reporting);
- Support management in monitoring actions and strategies of the three-year plan;
- Research and canvassing for major campaign donors;
- Financial management support - dedicated funds and follow-up on funding requests (follow-up and daily response to questions and requests to ARC and RACJ);
- Support for selection committees for projects and scholarships funded by the CSF (nursing scholarships, multi-council, travel lottery, etc.);
- Loyalty, stewardship, donor profiling and recognition;
- Development of relations with the CISSS internal community;
- Participate in various business relations activities to promote the organization and become actively involved in the philanthropic community (AFP conference);
- Participate in training sessions and conferences to keep abreast of new trends and best practices in philanthropy;
- Participate in the development of strategies, content and focus for partnership and sponsorship programs for the Foundation's benefit events;
- In collaboration with the General Manager: Conduct sponsorship research (identify and approach potential partners) and negotiate partnership agreements;
- As delegated by the General Manager, handles certain files.


Profile

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline. In addition to at least five (5) years' experience in an equivalent position, he/she must possess the following knowledge and skills:

- Solid experience in prospecting and developing high-level partnerships; concrete achievements related to the position are sought;
- Knowledge and/or strong skills in philanthropy, fundraising, communications and human resources management;
- Good experience in human resources management, and ability to manage a high-performance team;
- Knowledge of the health and social services sector is an asset;
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills;
- Ability to manage several priorities at once, independently and rigorously.

  • Permanent full-time position (35h/week);
  • Start date: September 2, 2024;
  • Workplace: 1515, boul. Chomedey (Laval), possibility of part-time remote work; 
  • Salary range: $100,000 to $120,000.
